Zelma Marjory Wind

Funeral services for Zelma Marjory Wind will be held Monday, February 15, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the High Spring Baptist Church south of Okemah. Interment will follow at the High Spring Cemetery. There will also be a Wake Service held at the High Spring Church on Sunday the 14th at 7:00 PM. Visitation will take place at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home throughout the weekend. Zelma Marjory Yahola Wind was born January 8, 1931 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Lyman L. Yahola and Miley (Haynes) Yahola. She passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at her home in Cromwell at the age of 79. Mrs. Wind grew up in the Okmulgee area of Oklahoma. She had currently been a resident of Cromwell, Oklahoma for the past 46 years. Mrs. Wind retired from Big Yank in Wewoka after 27 years of employment. She also worked with Community Action, Inc. in Wewoka for 8 years, employed 3 years with the Seminole County Clerks office as a receptionist, and worked on the Experience Works Program for the elderly having retired again in 2008. Mrs. Wind enjoyed quilting, and was a very active member of the High Spring Baptist Church of Okemah. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lyman L. and Miley Yahola; her maternal grandparents, Liza Alexander and John Haynes of Okmulgee; paternal grandparents, Annie Smith Yahola and Willie Yahola of Wetumka; one brother, Lyman Yahola Jr., step mother, Bertha Yahola; and two grandsons, Cody Wind and Jason Blanton. Survivors include her 6 sons, Rev. Jesse Wind and wife Martha of Cromwell, J.D. Wind and wife Gayle of Wellston, Richard Wind and wife Sheila of Wewoka, Tim Wind of Cromwell, Thomas Wind and wife Sharon of Peoria, Arizona, Grover Wind and wife Melodie of Morris, and Kerry Sowder of Cromwell; three daughters, Ruth Ann Buie and husband Thomas Lee of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, Ruby Bender and husband Sam of Cromwell, and Millie Wind of Wetumka; three sisters, Liz Yahola of Okemah, Lela Dunson of Bixby, and Joyce Ann Yahola of Wetumka; three brothers, Thomas Yahola and wife Phyliss of Wetumka, Harold Yahola and wife Carol of Tulsa, and Leon Yahola and wife Beverly of Muskogee; 36 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Serving as active pallbearer will be Russell Wind, Jeff Phillips, Charles Harley, Tommy Frank, Allan Wind, and Jerry Monday. Honorary Bearers include Perry Beaver, Pete Beaver, and Kerry Sowder. Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah and officiated by Rev. Jesse Wind and assisted by Rev. Daniel Wind Jr.
