Wanda Lou Davis

Funeral services for Wanda Lou Davis will be held Friday, January 24, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Calvary Way Church in Prague, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at the Paden Cemetery. Wanda Lou left us on January 22, 2014. Jesus lovingly and peacefully carried her to be with her heavenly Father, her beloved husband and other loved ones in heaven. Wanda loved her family immensely and dedicated her life to serving them. She was born February 2, 1930 in Paris, Texas to Clyde and Mattie Wren. She married Starland Davis, May 19, 1947 in Castle, Oklahoma. Wanda had been a resident of the Paden and Okemah area most all of her life and was a graduate of Paden High School. She retired as a manager of the Okemah High School Food Service after 23 years of employment. Wanda enjoyed fishing, watching round-up club parades and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed watching sports and supporting her two grandsons, Garrett and Tom, while playing football and baseball. Mrs. Davis was a member of the Calvary Way Church of Prague, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Historical Society. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Starland; three sisters, Wynonna, Bobbie and Wilma; two brothers, Wayne and Glen and one great-grandson, Cross. She is survived by her son, G.W. and wife Susan of Oklahoma City; two grandsons, Garrett and wife Lyndie of Eufaula and Thomas and wife Justice of Oklahoma City; five great-grandchildren, Torrie, Colton, Hadleigh, Olivia and Baxter; one brother, Billy and wife Joan Wren of Washington; one sister, Okla Cowen of California; sisters in law, Dorothy and Lucille Davis, Mary Lou Klutts and Evelyn and Tracy Wren and brother in law, John Hagan. Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah and officiated by nephew Rev. Starland Davis. Serving as active pallbearers will be Lyndol, Howard, and Gary Wren, Starland Davis Jr., Donnie Henson, Shane Duke and Spencer Funchess. Honorary bearers include Max Case, Tex Case, Randy Scott, Roger Nelson and Tommy Davis. Viewing and visitation will be Thursday, January 23rd, 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM.
