Verna Mae Anderson

A memorial service for Verna Mae (Stock) Anderson will be held Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Linwood United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Verna Mae (Stock) Anderson was born May 9, 1928 in Lupus, Missouri to (Johaan Wilhelm) Carl and Carolyn (Seifert) Stock. She passed away peacefully on November 20, 2015 in Okemah, Oklahoma at the age of 87. Verna grew up in Missouri and moved to Oklahoma when she married the love of her life, Bill J. Anderson on July 20, 1963, in Oklahoma City, OK. She grew up on a farm and was not afraid to work. She did anything necessary to see her family was provided for. She was a homemaker most of her life but worked for a period of time for J. C. Penney’s and Apco Oil Company. She was creative, artistic, and loved to sew, garden, cook, and paint. She enjoyed making things for her family and friends. And she put lots of love in everything she did. The most important two things in her life were her family and her church. She never tired of doing for any of them. If she wasn’t home cooking, baking, or making crafts, she was at the church cleaning, cooking, or helping wherever needed. She was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church where she was a member of Linwood United Methodist Church then New Life United Methodist Church and finally First United Methodist Church of Moore, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Anthony (Tony) Stock and Walter Stock; husband, Bill J. Anderson; and grandson, John Witte. Survivors include daughter, Janet Isaza and her husband Gabe of Vacaville, CA; daughter, Joyce Witte and her husband Richard of Chickasha, OK; daughter, Glenda Alls and her husband Carl of Okemah, OK; daughter, Linda Anderson of Oklahoma City, OK; five grandchildren, Emily Penland, Stephanie Penland, Robert Witte and wife Debbie, David Witte and wife Carrie, Brooke McHugh and husband Cody; and five great grandchildren, Nicholas Witte, Brandon Witte, Courtney. Witte, Whitney McHugh, and Addison McHugh; along with a host of extended family and friends. All arrangements were handled by Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma.
