Frank Earl Duncan

Funeral services for Frank Earl Duncan will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Okemah. Interment will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Okemah. Frank Earl Duncan was born June 21, 1924 in Okemah, Oklahoma to Charlie Duncan and Myrtle (Wallace) Duncan. He passed away Friday, April 24, 2015 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 90. Mr. Duncan had been a lifelong resident of the Okemah area and had attended the Lone Star School in Okemah as a child. He and Emma Lou Foster were married August 22, 1943 in Okemah; she later preceded him in death August 22, 2005. Mr. Duncan was the owner and operator of Duncan Tank Truck from 1960 until his retirement in 1990. He enjoyed raising cattle, hunting and especially trout fishing in Colorado which he did every year for 35 years. Mr. Duncan was the first Mayor of the City of Okemah and was a member of the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church of Okemah. He also served his country with the United States Navy during World War II. Also preceding her in death were his parents and 2 brothers, Raymond and Homer. Survivors include his daughter, Cheryl Bartosh of Okemah; his son, Ronnie Duncan and wife Lynne of Okemah; two brothers, Jimmy Duncan and wife Glenda of Earlsboro, Oklahoma and Elmer Duncan and wife Janice of Tahlequah; one sister, Betty Lou Armstrong of Winchester, Virginia; seven grandchildren, Noel Bartosh of Jenks, Joel Bartosh and wife Wanda of Quapaw, Oklahoma, Fletcher Duncan and wife April of Tulsa, Rebekah Bartosh of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Leigh Anne Harelson and husband Trent of Okemah, Amy Hays and husband Jerry of Cleveland and Rachel Wyrick and husband Eddie of Atoka; and 13 great-grandchildren, Foster Duncan, Spencer Duncan, Xander Duncan, Ester Grace Duncan, Asher Duncan, Riley Harelson, Jacie Harelson, Abby Harelson, Michael Christian, Duncan Wyrick, Grant Wyrick, Hunter Wyrick and Samuel Hays. Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah and officiated by Rev. Wade Harelson. Serving as active pallbearers will be Joel Bartosh, Noel Bartosh, Fletcher Duncan, Trent Harelson, Jerry Hays and Ron L. Gott. Honorary pallbearer will be Gene Shields.
