Bobby B. Baker Sr.

Funeral services for Bobby Benton Baker, Sr. will be held Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Skyview Baptist Church in Okemah. Interment will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Okemah. Bobby Benton Baker was born January 3, 1946 in Okemah, Oklahoma to George H. Baker and Josie Faye (Clay) Baker. He passed away Friday, December 4, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 74. Bobby was a lifelong resident of the Okemah area and attended Pharoah Schools as a child. He and Leota Ann Carmen were married May 3, 1965 in Pasadena, Texas. Bobby worked for 42 years at Warn’s Home Furnishing in Okemah. Working was Bobby’s life having been a skilled carpenter, carpet layer and repairman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and working cattle. He also loved spending time with his kids and grandkids and was member of the Skyview Baptist Church of Okemah. He is survived by his wife, Leota Baker of the home; two sons, Donald Baker and wife Daphne of Okemah and Bobby Baker Jr. and wife Julie of Okemah; his daughter, Barbara Remis and husband Sampson of Mason; three brothers, Gary Baker and wife Manetta of Ryal, Oklahoma, Gerald Baker and wife Jeannie of Okemah and Terry Baker and wife Barbara of Weleetka; one sister, June Bynum and husband Clayton of Okemah 19 grandchildren, Sara and David Henley, Jonah and Seana Baker, Jacob and Micah Baker, Noah Baker, Kersten and Ty Wallace, Grace and Jason Wiggins, Sheila and Kenneth York, Kelly Miner, Briar Baker, Savannah Baker, Katie Baker, Luke Baker, Sara and Robert Rose, Jessica and Dustin Strianese, Ashley and Danny Christian, Ruby Cheatwood, Chris and Tasha Remis, Heather and Dante Bogus and Tesa Remis. He is also survived by 29 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends. Bobby’s grandsons will be serving as active pallbearers. Honorary bearers include Lance Warn, Pat Warn, Preston Wortham, Charlie Ray Smith, Larry Hollis, Jr. and Luke Baker. Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home and officiated by Rev. David Hamilton and Rev. Donald Baker. Anyone in attendance will be required to wear a mask at the service.
