Roy Walker

Roy Walker was born on December 22, 1954, in Okfuskee County to Doss Allen and Lucille (Stringfellow) Walker. He passed away March 19, 2025 in his home at the age of 70. Roy was the youngest of 8 children. He grew up and raised his family in Okemah. He graduated from Okemah High School in 1973. He married Connie Sue Roberts on June 11th, 1974. Together they raised their daughters, Tina, Tisha and Tammy and helped with raising their eldest grandson, Cody, whom was like the son he never had. Roy was always known to be a hard worker, in his teenage years, he worked in a peanut factory and he and his brother, Floyd, worked together bailing and hauling hay. Eventually, he and Floyd made a career in the oil industry as rig operators. He always worked hard and provided well for his family. Roy loved fishing and hunting and hanging out with his cousin/ best friend Bobby Atchley. He also loved doing these things with his grandsons and loved spending time with his family doing numerous activities. If you didn't know Roy he could come across as a gruff grizzly bear, but those that knew and loved him knew he was a big ole teddy bear. He had a great sense of humor and always had a joke to tell. He had a great affection for ice cream, and it seemed like anytime was the right time for ice cream. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Tina Rice, his brother Floyd Walker and five sisters, Virgina Fowler, Alice Slimp, Mae Green, Nancy Green, and Velma Buie. He is survived by his wife, Connie Walker, his daughter, Tisha Walker of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy an T.J. Rowan of Okemah, Oklahoma; ten grandsons, Cody Johnson and wife Annette, Austin Trammell, Alec Rice and wife Abby, Levi Rice, Justin Neal and wife Lena, Jacob Neal and wife Breanna, Jordan Neal, C.H. Neal, Keith Neal and Braiden Rowan, two granddaughters Madison Rice and Taiylor Rowan; six great-grandchildren Bryce, Harper, Maverick, Scarlett, Soulen, Marlow, and another great-granddaughter on the way. He is also survived by his sister, Helen Boston and Sister-in-law, Lucille Walker, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Cody Johnson, C.H., Keith, Justin, Jacob, and Jordan Neal. Honorary pallbearers include Bobby Atchley, James Buie, Joe Robison, Alec and Levi Rice, and Braiden Rowan.
