Paul Hill Haydon

Funeral services for Paul Hill Haydon will be Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Okemah. Interment will be held at Highland Cemetery also in Okemah. Paul Hill Haydon was born July 11, 1926 at his home place in Haydonville, Oklahoma to Grover Cleveland and Thelma (Hanson) Haydon. He passed away Friday, July 10, 2015 at his home in Haydonville at the age of 88. Mr. Haydon was a resident of Okfuskee County all of his life and was a 1945 graduate of Okemah High School. He and Maxine Unterkircher were married September 24, 1949 at the farm in Haydonville. Mr. Haydon served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War. He also served his community with many organizations, committees and volunteer work. Mr. Haydon operated a successful pecan farm and cattle operation for many years and was also a member of the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Okemah. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lew Afton Haydon. Survivors include his wife, Maxine Haydon of the home; his two daughters, Paula Garrett and husband Steve of Edmond, Oklahoma and Susan Haydon Raybourn and husband Steve of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren, Stephanie Peevy and husband Sam, Cherie Martin and husband Tony, Haydon Raybourn and Anna Raybourn; four great-grandchildren, Nicole, Caymen, Harper and Beckham and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Serving as active pallbearers will be Stephanie Peevy, Cherie Martin, Haydon J. Raybourn, Anna Raybourn, Robert Unterkircher and David Unterkircher. Honarary bearers include: Raymond Overall, Jack York, Steve Killmer, Frank Moore, Shirley Nero, Don McDaniels, C.J. Garrett and Clifford Gates. Viewing and visitation will be Sunday, 1:00 – 4:00 PM and Monday, 8:30 AM – 8:00 PM. Family will be at the funeral home Monday 5:00 – 7:00 PM to greet friends. Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah and officiated by Bro. James Branscum and Rev. Valerie Steele. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Mr. Haydon to the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church of Okemah or the Okemah Public School Foundation.
