Hattie R. Fixico

Funeral services for Hattie R. Fixico will be held Monday, September 14, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Greenleaf Indian Baptist Church in Okemah. Interment will follow at the Castle Cemetery. Hattie Rachel Fixico was born February 8, 1924 in Okfuskee County, Oklahoma to Roman Fixico and Louinie (Simmer) Fixico. She passed away Friday, September 11, 2015 in Del City, Oklahoma at the age of 91. Hattie worked as a secretary for the Civil Rights Staff of the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City. She retired after 40 plus years of employment. She also served her country with the United States Army Airforce. Hattie was a member of the Greenleaf Indian Baptist Church of Okemah and enjoyed bowling, basketball and softball. She was also involved with the United Methodist Women. She is preceded in death by her parents; Roman and Louinie Fixico; Robert Paddlety; one brother, Hiawatha “Boots” Fixico; three sisters, Etta Mae Fixico, Betsy Tiger and Nakomis Vila. She is survived by her two daughters, Rhonda Durant and Curtis Franks of Oklahoma City and Donna Rocha and husband Juan of Norman, Oklahoma; one brother, Charles “Sox” Fixico of Norman, Oklahoma; one sister, Rebecca Kingsbury of Tishomingo, Oklahoma; one sister in law, Dorothy Fixico of Castle, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Byron Tsotigh, Jeana Rhae Tsotigh, Albert Bronaugh, Jr., Robert Bronaugh and Martin Bronaugh; great-grandchildren, Preston Tsotigh, Miranda Rain Parsons, Esperanza Tamez, Noelle Tamez and Isabelt Tamez; great-great grandchildren, Alianna Rae Sawyer and Nala Julisa Thai. She is also survived by Austin Parsons of Oklahoma City and Shaila Coleman of Oklahoma City. Serving as active pallbearers will be Byron Tsotigh, Austin Parsons, Preston Tsotigh, Albert Bronaugh, Robert Bronaugh and Martin Bronaugh. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Charles “Sox” Fixico, Charles Fixico, Jr., Terry Fixico, Stanley Fixico, Randy Fixico, Chris Fixico, Eddie Fixico, Billy Wofford, Justin Yearby, Jeff Yearby, Jay Wood, Curtis Franks, Scott Vila and Doran Fixico. Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah and officiated by Rev. Wayne Harjo.
