Charlene Ross Haddox

Funeral services for Charlene Ross Haddox will be held Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Last Chance Baptist Church in Okemah. Interment will follow at the Morse Cemetery. Charlene Ross Haddox was born May 23, 1949 in Okemah, Oklahoma. She is the daughter of Ada Lois Ross and the late Charlie Ross of Okemah. She passed away, Sunday, July 24, 2016 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 67. Charlene married Johnny Haddox, July 3, 1967 at Last Chance. They’ve spent the past 49 years living at Okemah Lake. She graduated from Mason High School in 1967 and began work at the law office of Franklin Rahhal. Charlene and Johnny owned and operated the Last Chance Grocery Store from 1975 – 80. She also worked as an aide at Mason Public Schools and for the Okfuskee County Department of Health for 25 years. She served as an administrator when she retired in 2010. Charlene loved to read and really enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play sports. She attended many ballgames throughout her life and was an avid sports fan. She was very involved with Okemah 4-H Club, Okemah Band and also the Okemah Booster Club. Charlene loved to travel and especially enjoyed spending time at their Eufaula Lake place. She is preceded in death by her father, Charlie C. Ross and her sister, Rita Ross Gahm. She is survived by her husband, Johnny Haddox of Okemah; her mother, Ada Ross of Okemah; her brother, David Ross and wife Dorothy of Okemah; three children, Carla Haddox of Tulsa, Dana Wilson and husband Eric of Okemah and J. C. Haddox and wife Relena of Okemah; grandchildren, Cody Haddox and wife Arin of Tulsa, Kenna Haddox-Golden of Shawnee, Nick Haddox, Jordan Chase Haddox and Sam Wilson all of Okemah and one great-granddaughter, Juliette Haddox of Tulsa. She is also survived by her special nephews, Kurt and Kevin Titsworth of Okemah and extended children and grandchildren, Theresa Campbell and husband Ronnie and Sierra, Conner, Tyler and Addison Campbell. Serving as active pallbearers will be Richard Shepard, Wyly Kenneda, Bill Kenneda, Larry Sanders, Ronnie Campbell and Ryan Titsworth. Honorary bearers will be her grandchildren, Cody, Nick, Jordan Chase, Sam, Tyler and Conner. Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma and officiated by Rev. J. R. Powell.
