Darlene Duke

Memorial Service for Darlene Hope (Cline) Duke will be held Monday, November 9, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Okemah, Oklahoma. Inurnment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Darlene Duke was born October 17, 1941 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Charles Lee Cline and Esther Woolf Cline. She died peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Friday, October 30, 2020 in Okemah, Oklahoma at the age of 79. Darlene was an Okfuskee County resident for most of her life and attended Bearden School and later graduated from Okemah High School in 1959. Darlene married James Monty Duke on November 25, 1959 in Poteau, Oklahoma; he preceded her in death in 1997. She later married Dale Brandt in June of 2000. Darlene was a member of the First Baptist Church of Okemah and served as a Regional Director of Twin River Head Start where she retired after 30 years. She loved spending time with family, watching football (especially the Okemah Panthers), traveling, and shopping. She will be missed by many family and friends who loved her dearly. Darlene is preceded in death by her parents, husband James Monty Duke and husband Dale Brandt, 5 brothers, Buford Cline, Theron Cline, Chalmers Cline, Argus (Bill) Cline, and Charles Cline and two sisters, Melba Cornell, and Ruby Lois Cline Dickson. She is survived by her children Jenni Wells and husband Daniel of Okemah, OK, Carri Bailey and husband Hank of Tulsa, OK, Debbi Lloyd and husband Steve of Perry, OK and Bryan Duke of Okemah, OK; 8 grandchildren, Keisha Newson and husband Darren, James Early, Howard Wells and wife Becky, Taylor Bailey, Colby Bailey, Laina Davidson, James David Michael Thomas, Sabrina Duke, and Jayden Duke. 11 great- grandchildren Bryce Mooreland, Diontae Newson, Tariah Newson, Symonne Newson, Jock Newson, Aulina Early, Alyssa Early, Aubrey Smith, Dominique Landers, Felicity Wells, and Hadlee Wells and 4 great- great- grandchildren. Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma and Officiated by Chris Lee and Frank Gregory We ask those who attend to please wear a mask.
